Why Does Pierre Like Chocolat In Sugar Sugar Rune?

In episode 6 of the Sugar Sugar Rune anime (#ad) and manga series by Moyoco Anno, Pierre, the main male character, has a fencing match against Chocolat, the main female character, because the latter wanted to join the fencing club and the former is the captain of said club.

With the way Chocolat is blushing and going all red in the face whenever Pierre is nearby or is in super close proximity to her and with how she gets all flustered in his presence, it’s easy to see that, for one reason or another (his looks, maybe? The guy’s a Gary Stu, isn’t he?), she has a crush on him. But what about Pierre? Does he like Chocolat?

"But if you happen to win [the fencing match], I’ll give you a kiss as a reward."

Pierre Tempête de Neige says the above line to Chocolat and I’m like why is he saying that to her? Does he like her? Why does he like her? What reason would he have to like her?

What is Pierre's exact age?

Also, seriously, how old is Pierre? He’s supposedly in middle school, but the way he’s drawn and presented to the audience makes him look like an adult, like he’s a high school or even college student. He always looks so serious and practically expressionless, and, while it’s perfectly fine for characters to act like that (adds to the mystery and all that), with Pierre, it just comes across as really creepy and disturbing.

Chocolat is younger than Pierre

Why? It’s because the show is making him out to be the main romantic love interest of Chocolat Meilleure / Kato who is like 10 years old. Just look at her. She looks like a baby, a little girl/kid, when compared to super tall Pierre. She barely reaches his shoulders and has to look way up every time they talk.

Why does Pierre want to kiss Chocolat?

Pierre comes across as disturbingly creepy for wanting to kiss someone who is underage and hasn’t even reached puberty yet. For a moment, in one of the later scenes, I thought Pierre and Kato were actually going to kiss on the lips, but, surprisingly, thankfully, it didn’t happen because Chocolat pushed him away.

Is Pierre stalking Chocolat?

In one of the earlier scenes, right after Chocolat gets rid of the Members (Pierre’s crazy and insane fanclub), Pierre shows up. He shows up right away and I’m like what was he even doing there where Kato was cleaning? Is he stalking her now or what?

Why did he try to teach Chocolat to fence? Why did he say that line about kissing her? Does he really want to kiss her or is he just playing around with her? Either way, it’s really disturbing and creepy, isn’t it? What do you think about this?

What's So Disturbing About The PierrexChocolat Romantic Pairing In Sugar Sugar Rune?

Episode 6 of the Sugar Sugar Rune anime (#ad) and manga series by Moyoco Anno really shows you the stark difference between the ages and heights of the main female character and the main male character who are undoubtedly going to end up together (seriously, this ain’t no spoiler with how their pairing is being shoved down our throats practically as early as episode 1).

What’s the height and age difference between Chocolat and Pierre, the main characters? What’s wrong with this difference? What makes this disturbing?

Chocolat is a child

Did you notice that Chocolat Meilleure / Kato is really, and I mean really, young? If you look at her, the way she’s drawn and portrayed, it’s like she hasn’t even reached puberty yet. Her chest is flat and she’s really very short. She’s still in elementary school. She acts childish a lot of the time. In other words, she’s just a kid.

Pierre is an adult (at least when compared to Chocolat)

In contrast, Pierre Tempête de Neige looks so much older. He’s super tall. He’s apparently in middle school, but he looks like he’s around 18 or something or even in his early 20s. He even acts old with that cold, distant persona and exterior. There’s nothing childish about him. He acts very mature. In other words, he’s pretty much a grown-up when compared to Chocolat.

Height difference between Chocolat and Pierre

In episode 6, we get shots of Chocolat and Vanilla Mieux / Ice, her best friend, standing in front of Pierre (this was when the girls are talking to Pierre about joining the fencing club). This close, you can really see the difference between their heights and ages. The 2 girls look so young when compared to the guy. It’s not just the height, though that says a lot too since the 2 barely reach up to Pierre’s shoulders.

Age difference between Pierre and Chocolat

Does anyone know what their exact ages are? Isn’t it kind of odd / strange / weird / disturbing how Sugar Sugar Rune is clearly setting up the Pierre and Chocolat pairing? I mean, isn’t she too young for him? Isn’t he so much older than her?

If they were closer in age and if she wasn’t like a little kid or something, then this wouldn’t be such a big deal. But, as it is, it just seems really rather disturbing how they might will end up together, isn’t it?

Isn't Chocolat too young to fall in love?

I hope Chocolat will be so much older when that actually happens. Because she’s too young right now. Besides, a harmless crush is one thing, but to actually feel love for Pierre already? They hardly know each other. And they’ve barely spoken.

And what about Pierre? Does he like her, a little girl? What’s wrong with him? He’s better off picking from his myriad of fangirls in middle school who are at least older than Kato. So, what do you think about all this?
