Results Of The Favorite Ran Poll

I added an Opinion Stage poll to this post where I talked about characters from two different series who happen to share the same first name. The name in question is "Ran," which means "orchid" in Japanese. The characters are Ran Fujimiya from Weiss Kreuz and Ran Mouri from Meitantei Conan.

Weiss Kreuz or Weiß Kreuz (also known as Knight Hunters) is an anime and manga series created by Koyasu Takehito. Ran Fujimiya (#ad) is one of the main characters from this show. He is a skilled swordsman who is very deadly with his katana. He works as an assassin in order to pay for the medical bills of his little sister, Aya-chan or Aya Fujimiya, who is in a coma.

Meitantei Conan or Detective Conan is an anime and manga series created by Gosho Aoyama. It's one of the longest running mystery series because, yes, up to now, it's still ongoing. Ran Mouri (#ad) is the childhood friend and girlfriend of Shinichi Kudo, the main character of the show. She is a high school student who is nice, kind, and caring. She is skilled at karate and can be quite dangerous to people who try to hurt her or her loved ones.

Anyway, for reasons that I'll talk about in another post on another one of my blogs, I've decided to delete the Opinion Stage poll and replace it with one from SurveyMonkey instead. The poll in question was created on 13 June 2015.

Ran Mouri (Meitantei Conan) Versus Fujimiya (Weiss Kreuz)

Weiss Kreuz and Meitantei Conan are anime and manga series. Weiss Kreuz (Weiß Kreuz, also known as Knight Hunters) was created by Koyasu Takehito. It tells the story of 4 assassins who work in a flower shop. They’re tasked to defeat the bad guys who are above the law and each have their own motivations and reasons for doing what they do.

Meitantei Conan (Detective Conan) was created by Gosho Aoyama. It belongs to the mystery genre and it tells the story of a great high school detective who was turned into a kid. While he may have the body of a child, he still has the mind of an adult. He solves all kinds of cases as he searches for the organization that was responsible for what happened to him.

What the 2 series have in common?

If there’s one thing that the 2 aforementioned series have in common, it would be the fact that they each have a character who share the same first name. The name in question is "Ran," which means orchid in Japanese. The 2 characters are Ran Fujimiya from Weiss Kreuz and Ran Mouri (or Mori) from Meitantei Conan. It’s interesting to note that the 2 are of different genders even if they have the same first name.

Ran Fujimiya from Weiss Kreuz

Ran Fujimiya (#ad) is one of the four main characters of Weiss Kreuz. He’s an assassin whose code name is Abyssinian. His weapon is a katana. He is more commonly known or referred to as Aya. This is the name of his little sister (Aya-chan or Aya Fujimiya) who is currently in a coma. Just like Toya Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura, Ran loves his sister very much.

In fact, she's the reason why he chose to be an assassin- he needs a lot of money to pay for her medical bills. He comes across as stoic, silent, and mysterious, similar to Toya from Ayashi No Ceres. This is because Ran is usually indifferent. He can be dangerous and deadly since he’s a highly-skilled swordsman.

Ran Mouri from Meitantei Conan

Ran Mouri (#ad) is the childhood friend and love interest of Shinichi Kudo, the main character of Meitantei Conan. She presents a cheerful exterior and a pleasant, warm demeanor.

She is a capable fighter though she isn’t an assassin and is only really dangerous when you try to hurt her or her loved ones. She’s absolutely awesome at karate and is a really tough person. But she is also very nice, kind, sweet and caring.
